suresh asked:

Â

Bollywood the name itself tells us that it is name given to Bombay film industry which is having highest viewers in the world and also produces films in market terms that create some kind of challenge to Hollywood. In spite of its large contribution english cinema does not really have any distinctive status. Due to Oscars most European films are getting recognition and reaching global audience otherwise they too are viewed within the country of origin. Most of the remaining parts of world watch French, Italian and Polish films that concentrate on art and culture and they does not really make any good money in other parts of world.

Â

Indian cinema on the other hand not only rules in its home country but also viewed in other parts like Middle East, South East Asia and even Africa. Even thought most of them do not understand the language they are familiar with the films and actors. Generally most of the bollywood movies are watched worldwide as Indian population is more through out the world. Indian movie lover watch bollywood movies though they are made in similar way. It is said that on daily basis fourteen million indian’s go to the movies to watch over 800 films produced each year that is more than double the number of movies produced in United States. Bollywood movies are produced more than 1,000 a year and are watched by 3.6 billion audiences. The countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh are also having high number of viewers even after watching indian movies was official ban by the government.

Â

Based on analysis bollywood movies now make good money in UK and US as they are produced more in number throughout the year and also due to huge NRI population. Hollywood is also trying to make its influence on Asian country but it could only make its influence on some metro city in India with its blockbuster hits like Titanic, Jurassic park etc. The US films in India are estimated to be 150 in a year which is no way comparable to bollywood movies production each year.

Â

In this globalized world it is expected that there will be a sharing of knowledge which is already done between Hollywood and bollywood. Movies in hindi are dubbed from Hollywood movies and there titles changed. This dubbing business has become big with american’s dominating the business and a small extent is contributed by Indians. Some film making aspects are also outsourced to bombay

Â

This tells us indian film industry is getting a good recognition in global market and is

Becoming more and more conventional around the world.

Content for WordPress

Arunraj V.S. asked:

Who is the top Bollywood actress of 2008? Who is the most successful Bollywood actress of 2008? Which sexy Bollywood actress actually ruled our hearts and the Bollywood box office in 2008?

In 2008, perhaps no Bollywood actress suffered so much professionally as Priyanka Chopra. In the same vein, we can say perhaps no one benefited as much in 2008 as Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka Chopra starred in four of the worst flops of 2008: Love Story 2050, Drona, God Tussi Great Ho and Chamku. However a strong performance oriented role in Fashion, turned the tide for heels. Following close on the heels of Fashion, was Dostana. Priyanka Chopra had an average year in 2008.

Kareena Kapoor looked hot and sexy in 2008, but her size zero figure could not save Tashan from being the worst film of 2008. Kareena Kapoor was able to salvage some glory in Golmaal Returns

Minissha Lamba donned a sexy avatar which did not help Kidnap at all. However, she achieved some solace in Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Deepika Padukone had one hit, as well in the form of Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Rani Mukherjee and Amisha Patel, both flopped again this year with their only film Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic losing out.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a hit in Jodhaa Akbar. At other times, she was found away from the Bollywood arc lights in the comfortably arms of hubby Abhishek Bachchan.

Katrina Kaif scored in Race and Singh is Kinng. Her other movie Yuvvraaj sank without a trace.

Vidya Balan had a semi hit in Kismet Konnection. Bipasha Basu, arguably, the sexiest actress of 2008, is the only actress with 100 percent success rate.

The oomphilicious Bipasha Basu, sexy and sassy had two hits, Race and Bachna Ae Haseeno to her credit.

There were two South Indian beauties who appeared in Bollywood, one in a changed avatar and the other making a fresh appearance. Genelia D’Souza who had previously starred in Masti, years ago, starred in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the youth hit, as a teeny bopper. Her fantastic performance and cute looks earned her a legion of fans. Asin, another southern sensation debuted in the biggest Bollywood hit of 2008, Ghajini. Asin’s performance is being widely appreciated.

The other list of female newcomers in Bollywood include: Anushka Sharma(Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), Sonal Chauhan(Jannat) and Adah Sharma(1920).

So for the record, if we dont count the new entrants, the countdown for the succesful Bollywood actress of 2008 is as follows: 5. Kareena Kapoor: One hit and one flop 4. Aishwarya Rai: One big hit 3. Priyanka Chopra: Four flops and two hits 2. Katrina Kaif: Two hits and One flop 1. Bipasha Basu: Two movies and both of them hits In other words, Bipasha Basu is the top successful Bollywood actress of 2008.

Content – Members-Only Content for WordPress

Arunraj V.S. asked:

2008 was the year of inane comedies and theme oriented movies. Quality was appreciated and slapstick humor were digested without a burp. On one hand, we had the inane, slapstick comedies like Golmaal Returns and Singh is Kinng as big hits, there were also few surprises in the form of Aamir, Mumbai Meri Jaan and A Wednesday. This triumvirate of theme based movies, based on terror acts and bomb blasts were high on quality and appreciated by both the critics and the masses. A Wednesday particularly stood out for its engaging dialogues and script sense. Towards the end of the year, the two Khans dominated the Bollywood scene. While Shahrukh Khan scored with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Aamir Khan’s Ghajini became the biggest hit of the year, raking in as much as whopping Rs. 33 crores world wide in the first day itself. At the point of writing, Ghajini is still riding very strongly and hopes to reach the magical figure of Rs. 100 crores in three weeks.

Among the guys, the year did not belong to one particular actor like it did for Akshay Kumar in 2007. The biggies Akshay Kumar(Singh is Kinng), Shahrukh Khan(Rab Ne), Hrithik Roshan(Jodhaa Akbar), Saif Ali Khan(Race) and Aamir Khan(Ghajini) had all one hit each. Oops, one big name is missing. Ah! there you are: Salman Khan. Salman had a bad year professionally. Two of his movies, God Tussi Great Ho and Yuvvraaj, flopped miserably at the box office.

Among the veterans, Naseeruddin Shah had a good year with two big hits, A Wednesday and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Amitabh Bachchan did not have a good 2008 with God Tussi Great Ho, Bhootnath and the Last Lear not doing well. The only saving grace was an average Sarkar Raj. But his box office status is unfazed. Son Abhishek Bachchan had a mega flop in the form of Drona and a semi hit in the form of Dostana. John Abraham also had Dostana to his credit while Emran Hashmi was safe and secure with Jannat doing well. Ajay Devgan had a disastrous directorial debut U,Me aur Hum in which he acted. Fortunately, he had one hit Golmaal Returns to his credit. Shreyas Talpade had two hits in the form of Golmaal Returns and Welcome to Sajjanpur. Shahid Kapur had to be content with an above average Kismet Konnection.

Among the girls, perhaps no one suffered so much professionally as Priyanka Chopra. However he couldn’t follow it up with his second movie Kidnap biting the dust. Another new comer, Harman Baweja, Priyanka Chopra’s boyfriend, starred in one of the worst films of 2008, Love Story 2050. Incidentally both Jaane Tu and Lovestory 2050, released on the same day. Rajneesh Duggal debuted in 1920 while Mithun Chakraborthy’s son Mimmoh had a pathetic flop in the form of Jimmy, as his debut film. Here’s hoping 2009 sees better movies, better performances and better surprises!

Content for WordPress

Gen Wright asked:

of Hindi Bollywood entertainment industry has been very much aided by the immense growth of the Internet. Anyone with an Internet connection can now watch a free Hindi video uploaded to YouTube, or download TV-Serials and popular Hindi MP3 from some fan sites. Free downloads are just a click away.

Due to this great convenience, Bollywood entertainment has been spreading like nothing ever seen before. Hindi entertainment has been creeping quietly, but surely and quickly, into the consciousness of both Western and Eastern audiences all around the world. No one can deny the simple fact that Bollywood films are now taking the world by storm. But what makes Bollywood films so attractive? And why is Bollywood industry booming? Is it simply due to the Internet?

Well, Bollywood entertainment has always kept its own unique culture. The songs are eloquent, the music flowing, and the dances are packed with moves that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world. Maybe these unique characteristics have been constantly attracting some millions of curious eyeballs unknowingly.

With no lack of good look celebrities and talented directors, the Bollywood industry has managed to capture the hearts of many domestic and international fans.

Even without the support of International fans, Bollywood still manages to produce an average of 800 movies every single year to satisfy the appetite of fourteen million Indians who go see movies on a daily basis. The domestic market remains today one of the main driving forces that support Bollywood movies.

It is, however, interesting to note that since Indian has over sixteen official languages, it is rare (but not impossible) to have a single movie that pleases the entire population. But the benefit of having such a diverse population is that a huge variety of Hindi movies have managed to find their place in the Hindi entertainment industry.

Needless to say, talented actors and actresses are in high demand in this booming industry. In demand lead stars can earn as much as US$800,000 per movie. And it’s not uncommon to see budgets as huge as US$2 million for a single Bollywood movie.

The numbers can be staggering because of the huge market in India. Even though it costs only somewhere between US$1-$3 to watch a movie in India, the huge number of movie goers quickly add up to enormous figures. Movie posters, collectibles and other related products quickly surface to maximize profits in this thriving industry.

To show their support for their beloved idols, fans have setup unofficial websites and blogs that feature their favorite celebrities. Such sites often allow visitors to download free sample MP3 songs or watch videos over the Internet.

With the Internet growing at such an amazing pace, it’s tempting to predict that the future of Bollywood can only get brighter.

Website content

ZeeBuddy asked:

Bollywood has faced a number of upheavals and transformations, but one remarkable change of the recent times is the experimentation with techniques and themes.

The former years had a lot of restrictions in terms of presentation, handling and theme of the movie from the director’s point of view. They could not take up challenging horror or action sequences because it demanded special effects, the result was a gapingly scant collection of horror flicks, and in the name of action the viewers had to do with adoring Dharmendra’s power-packed fists that floored the villains in one thunderous punch with the roar: “Kuttey! Mein tera khoon pee jaunga!!! (the pun was unintentional). There were some potential substitutes, too, like Dara Singh, who promised some drum-centric music enhanced (read overshadowed) action sequences, where an army of goons was hurled about in all directions by him. Then we had Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Angry Young Man’ avatar and then the action mantle fell on Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Suniel Shetty, and Akshay Kumar. With time, action sequences became considerably better, with slow-motion punches adding to the overall action effect of the fist-power.

In the same era, Hollywood churned out a hair-raising thriller-horror ‘The Wind’ (1987). This particular movie became hugely popular due to the sheer simplicity with which the horror was built-up. It was chilling, scary, violent and gripping. It used no effects other than some high voltage fans to create the windstorm in a deserted village. And its background music was self-effacing, yet adding to the chill. A novelist (Meg Foster) retires to a crumbling villa in a village to complete her book, and is hounded by the caretaker who has a fancy of killing with a scyth – pretty dumb and clichéd storyline. No extraordinary props, no high-tech, hard-to-get gadgets that were a dream for our Bollywood procurers. We didn’t, but Nico Mastorakis created a timeless and ingenious example of making viewers start in dread. It was frightening for an adult then; it still is for his son now.

Recently, we have seen an explosion of new age technologies giving our cinema an unusually updated look. (They have even mastered ‘The Matrix’ 3-D effect after copying it in ‘n’ number of movies!). ‘Drona’, ‘Krrish’, ‘A love Story-2050’ are all effects-based flicks, using the latest technologies. Even animation has reached its adolescence and full time films like ‘Roadside Romeo’ are at par with regular feature films. Sometimes the animated characters look plastic, but new-age children are used to it so they don’t mind much. After all, they practically live in a world overflowing with polymer.

Of course, there has never been a dearth of romances in Bollywood. (The audience get a chance to let their imagination run amock fuelling bollywood gossip). They actually started with a good guy in white kurta-pyjama (not the night-dress, it was the over-loose dress of those times!) serenading his lady love, looking at the metaphoric moon, without a glance at that well made-up, simpering, dupatta-biting lass standing beside him. That was love. Then they held hands and danced, then they hid behind trees in gardens (with a close-up of two flowers!), then they let the lass’ dupatta slip, then it disappeared altogether. But now our directors have a wide variety of romantic options from bed-scenes to kisses landing smack on the mouths. Almost all versions of romance seem to have been exploited in the present cinematic period, but we can always expect from creative directors who always discover a new kind of romantic instance for youngsters to moon about.

Having used up the available expected lot of genre, Indian cinema is also extending shoots towards parallel cinema. Out of league movies are rising in number, and doing good despite targeting a niche-audience. The success-secret is the capitalistic metropolitan approach of distributors. They make a movie for one segment of audience; take the urban thinking ones. Then they release it only in PVRs, multiplexes that charge a ten to twenty percent more than the small-town halls. They earn as much on selling a hundred tickets as they would in a small place selling a thousand. The film is a success – the trend becomes popular. And ‘Bheja Fry’, ‘Slumdog Millioanaire’ and ‘A Wednesday’ are a rage!

Talking of ‘A Wednesday’, the horrifying attacks in Mumbai, and before that the sporadic incidents across the country have sent shock waves through Bollywood. The upper class has been hit this time, so, fight against terrorism has spread across all the sections of society. Only a few days have passed, and the inspiration has hit the scriptwriters and filmmakers hard. In a recent Bollywood news update, twenty titles based on the Mumbai attacks have been submitted for approval. Another burst of trend changers? Welcome to contemporary Bollywood!

Content

Doc Coolmac No PHD asked:

The women in Bollywood do not have the same independence and recognition that the actresses in Hollywood have. In many ways, Bollywood actresses are still oppressed, even in their privileged world.

There are film industries around the world, but none are closer than producing many Bollywood films in Mumbai, India. Unofficially known as the “dream factory” by most in and out of Bollywood industry, it is an industry that produces more than 900 feature films during a given year. Most of these films come, against only a handful of different plots, with the main theme of a young man and woman. There have always moral values of family and traditions to be included in these plots, and many times a woman to be saved. These are the women of Bollywood that I chose for my main objective of this document.

Bollywood is an industry-based major with many leading men like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. These men and a handful of other well-knowns pay almost literally to monopolize the film industry Bollywood. They are the “stars” of Bollywood. The women of Bollywood have been much harder to succeed in making large to transport their reputation over the years a long-term career. There is always a worry increasingly older and being pushed by the young charges who are constantly introduced into the Bollywood industry and the fact Bollywood still being an industry dominated by men.

In the book “May you be the mother of a hundred Sons” by Elisabeth Bumiller, three major Bollywood women open up to reveal their own personal experiences Bollywood, and that there is no such thing as a personal life when the spot of any kind, particularly in Bollywood, we all. In addition, a Bollywood “do everything” on the stars is almost more important than their film failures and successes. This seems to be particularly true in Mumbai and industry Bollywood.

During the late 80’s and early 90’s, three of the most popular actresses in Bollywood were Rekha, Dimple, and Sredevi. But there are also a handful of others who danced in and out of the star when they were on a role in the success of Bollywood. Smita Patil is a success of these actresses. In an interview with Elizabeth Bumiller, Smita talking about it is really to be an actress in Bollywood, professionally and personally. “Women who work in this sector did not have time for any type of normal life,” she said. “You are working ten or twelve hours a day with different men all the time.”You are constantly asked to emote, and it tends to become a high-strung emotionally existence, which leads to your commitments. The line is very thin.”

For more reference and infos about bollywood or any other bollywood news info that you’d like to check out pls visit http://bollywoodzone.wetpaint.com/

Content

Shruti Singh asked:

Indian movies started off in the real sense with the genius of Guru Dutt and Bimal Roy. Although India had seen a moving picture earlier but these two people really laid the roots of the success story of today’s Bollywood. Movies like ‘Pyaasa’ by Guru Dutt and ‘Bandini’ by Bimal Roy really defines the excellence of Indian movies and moreover of Bollywood. These were the pictures that can be cherished forever and have became the foundation stone of the Bollywood Hindi Movie.

Different actors and actresses became household names during different phases. There was Dilip Kumar who made the character of ‘Devdas’ his own. Then there was Rajesh Khanna who perhaps played the greatest role of his life in the film ‘Aradhana’. However the King of Bollywood movies is Amitabh Bachchan. The ‘Jay’ of the film ‘Sholay’, or the ‘Vijay’ of ‘Deewar’, He still rules the filmdom world. Whether it is his 2008 blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om’ or the old and the strict principal in the film ‘Mohabbatein’, the actor has crossed one after another performance milestone. The current phase of Bollywood has it’s hero Shah Rukh khan who is perhaps the next sensation after the king. With many hits films he is surely a great actor.

All Latest Bollywood Movie is popular everywhere today. Canadians, Africans and anyone can buy movies of Bollywood. Indian superstars are now becoming global superstars and the stadiums are always full when anyone of them goes on a world tour. Actors like Naseeruddin Shah now act in Hollywood project: ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’.

Bollywood Film Festivals now are being frequently organized at overseas locations. The favorite choices being Mauritian capital Seychelles. Major festivals like the Film-Fare Awards, Zee Cine Awards and the IIFA awards get held in places like Bangkok, Lancashire and Montreal. Actors like Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can be seen walking the red carpet in the famous Cannes film festival.

The internet is also not exempt from Bollywood movies. Many websites offer upcoming film promos and CD’s and DVD’s are available of most of the latest hit movies within a month of their release. If a user wants to watch a latest Bollywood Hindi movie he can buy a CD or a DVD from a nearby CD buying/rental store. Indians now buy movies in large quantities. A Bollywood Hindi Movie CD is thus in great demand and stocks run out quickly as soon as they come in stores. Movie fanatics buy movies quicker than the CD or DVD’s arrive.

Â

Content – Members-Only Content for WordPress

Raisa Raima asked:

The increasing popularity of Bollywood could be seen in the fact that the tickets in the multiplexes get booked even before the films are released. Its craze could be seen in every nook and corner of India.

Bollywood Cinemas came in India on July 7 1896, when at the Watkins Hotel in downtown Bombay, the short films of the Lumiére brothers were shown. It became a huge hit among the audience. Then again in the year 1913, DG Phalke went on to London on a trip, where he got inspired by movie named “The Life of Christ”. After returning back to India this successful painter made the nation’s first feature film Raja Harishchandra, which was scantly based on Indian religious epic The Mahabharata. The film became a household name for years and since then Indian cinema has never looked back.

After a gap of 18 years, sound came to Indian cinema. It was the directorial debut of Ardeshir Irani and it was him whose vision got culminated into Alam Ara. The movie established song and dance as the narrative flow. The film industry was then split into different languages broadly into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Today, Bollywood movies come in common parlance with Mumbai-based Hindi film industry. The industry is quiet big as compared to others. It churns out approximately one thousand movies a year. Recently, the world has seen Bollywood movies’ entry in the Oxford English Dictionary. Well, with the passage of time and with the technological endeavour the movies have also changed their forms. Today, we could find the growing number of English words in the latest Hindi movies.

With online shopping catching up the Indian market, we could see the vast difference in the marketing techniques. Now the consumers can buy their favourite Bollywood DVDs sitting in the comfort of their homes. Online shopping has redefined the whole process of shopping for the Indian consumers. People now do shopping, banking and even trading though the Internet. This not only saves our precious time but also helps us to cut down the travelling fuel cost. You don’t have to stand endlessly for your favourite Bollywood DVDs anymore; the shop is just beneath your fingertips. You can read previews, reviews and watch trailers of the movies online. There are a number of websites that can offer rented DVDs as well to the customers.

Create a video blog…instantly.

Kommal, Editor-in-Chief: SUTRA Magazine.

Never before has South African soils seen feet dance to the Thandava (Divine dance by Lord Shiva in his eternal dance of creation) with such great technical perfection as in the Merchants of Bollywood!

Based on a true story, this amazing performance goes beyond the barriers of stage; it showcases the very spirit of Indian Dance. It details the transition of both Bollywood and more importantly Indian Dance from its ancient Heritage of Invoking the Gods to its spectacular relevance in this age of modernism.

In a very superficial perspective the musical is simply spectacular with a huge array of bursting colours and fantastic dance sequences, yet with a technically trained eye and a deep knowledge of Indian Heritage one knows and understands that there is more to this musical!

The basis of the musical is the story of Shantilalji (grandfather [dada] of Ayesha Merchant) and his pioneering of Indian dance in Bollywood, and the journey of Ayesha through Bollywood and then her journey back home to Shantilalji and the ‘Thandava’.

The story for Shantilalji in his paternal role in Bollywood gave great reverence and acknowledgement to the legends of Bollywood like Raj Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Helen, Amitabh Bachchan, and how Bollywood and specifically the dance in Bollywood has been nurtured not just as entertainment but as a sacred portrayal of a more than 5000 year old Heritage of India.

The technically flawless rendition of Kathak and Bharatiya Nathyam, the ancient indian dance forms for worship of the Gods, and their fusion with modern dance and gymnastics, was used cleverly to show Ayesha’s growth in Bollywood and entertainment. This was deeply and passionately contrasted by Shantilalji’s wish for her not to prostitute a form of reverence into a Fifty Rupee portrayal of scantily dressed women representing the ‘perfect dream’ for the Indian cinema, for both viewer and producer.

Shantilalji’s and Ayesha’s story detailed that just as Thandava and worship was the original Indian Dance, Bharat (the original name of India) and its Heritage is the original India.

The amazing and profound exposition in this musical of the philosophy of the ‘circle of life’ confirmed that this philosophy was deeply enshrined in the culture and worship from the ancient and mystical land of India.

The Merchants of Bollywood detailed that just as when India had gained its independence, that that was not the end of the struggle but the beginning of a new one. This aptly fitted in here in South Africa as these were exactly the sentiments of the great Former President Nelson Mandela for South Africa as a nation!

Merchants of Bollywood was a spell bounding dedication to the great and fantastic industry of Bollywood and its spiritually based heritage from the Motherland of India!

www.sutramagazine.net

Content for WordPress

Arunraj V.S. asked:

Bollywood gave some of the disappointing worst movies this year, 2008. The dusky beauty Priyanka Chopra is responsible in giving four of the biggest flops of 2008. Thank God, Fashion proved to be a saving grace.

Here is the list of Bollywood flop movies 2008:

1. Tashan: Director Sanjay Gadhvi showed that Dhoom series was a fluke as he completely made mincemeat of the movie Tashan. The movie was one big size zero, nothing in the movie impressed. Everyone in the movie looked like having an attitude problem and Anil Kapoor was difficult to understand than a Mission Impossible plot. Read review of Tashan

2. Love story 2050: Love Story 2050 released as a contender to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na on July 4, 2008. While Jaane Tu skyrocketed, Love Story 2050 went down to pits. Perhaps no movie in Bollywood has such a hackneyed and foolish second half as Love Story 2050. Come to think of it, something was definitely wrong in her pretty head, when Priyanka Chopra said it was a great movie. We certainly hated her as a red haired moll. Her man…sorry Harman Baweja looked like a boy lost in the woods.

3. Drona: Another crap flop movie featuring Priyanka Chopra. Drona was touted as the next big superhero movie starring Abhishek Bachchan. Almost every movie critic thrashed the movie Drona left, right and center. With Abhishek Bachchan looking like a junior artiste, this superzero film made everyone rush out of the cinema. Read review of Drona

4. Kidnap: Sanjay Gadhvi has proved that Tashan’s flop status was not a fluke. The movie lost focus on the story and trained its lens only on Minissha cleavage. So much to the extent that the candy floss lover Imran Khan was also shown ogling at Minissha’s cleavage. What about the story? Forget it, the audience was held at ransom. Read Kidnap review.

5. Mission Istanbul: Mission Istanbul looked like a B-grade movie with Istanbul as a backdrop. Pathetic direction, lousy performances, irritating screenplay, nothing went right for Mission Istanbul. At no point could the audience relate to what was going on. Read review of Mission Istanbul.

6. Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic: Since the time Aditya Chopra decided to put bikinis and scantily clad women as the centrifugal force in his films, his movies have only succeeded at the groin level. Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic will go down as one of the worst children’s movie. In fact, it is an insult to call it a children’s movie when we have the very developed in the right places Amisha Patel strutting her stuff in a yellow bikini and enjoying some lazy lamhe on the side. And have you seen a sardarni angel? That’s Rani for you. Read review of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

7. God Tussi Great Ho: Another Priyanka Chopra flop, this time she shares the honor with Salman Khan. The movie a very poor rip off of “Bruce Almighty”(even though the maker lied by telling it wasn’t) certainly left a bad taste in the mouth. Total bore and a waste of time, everything in it was second hand as Priyanka Chopra’s old nose ring.

8. Chamku: Priyanka Chopra’s one more meaningless contribution to the box office. I am sure the lady will blush while reading this, she certainly has to differentiate between a good script and bad script. At least, she can choose a director with a better track record if she cannot judge a script. Anyway Chamku had Bobby Deol playing the wrong character 252nd time. Of course, what do you expect the audience to do?

9. Money Hai toh Honey Hai: Money Hai toh Honey Hai was rubbished by critics and audiences alike. It looked like the director Ganesh Acharya tried making something to fill in between the song videos.

10. Krazzy4: The producer Rakesh Roshan became poorer by 4 crores before the movie could even release, thanks to the music copyright infringement case filed by Ram Shankar. Krazzy 4 had three item numbers by Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Rakhi Sawant which were the only saving grace in the film. Among the above list of top 10 flops in Bollywood 2008, this is the only one which was marginally passable to watch.

Website content
