Not a bad documentary, had some gross parts but the message was good for people with this kind of thing.

yeah…I know what you mean. I went clothes shopping and seriously…the reason girls like me who are a healthy weight at size 8-10 want to be a size 0 is cuz the stupid jeans in the junior’s section have more size 0-3 than anything else!

I still understand if you’re slim by nature, you are slim. But again if you have heavy bone structure, you should accept you can’t squeeze in those kind of pants no matter how much you would loose weight.

Great generalization that all women are jealous when she pulls those kids jeans on lol To me they just look ridiculous and tight, and if they wouldnt look tight she would look more horrible with stick-legs and no ass. She gladly had some figure in the end of this experiment too to differ her from those androgyn anorectics, of whomyou can’t tell if they’re men or women.

Wow.. One of my friends is even thinner than she was at the end though and most of my friends are about a size 4 too. Makes me look huge at a size 8. =P

gosh, i thought that Kate was going to lose it! (and I’m not talking about weight)

Wooah she got thin really quickly. Makes me want to crash diet. But don’t worry.. im not that stupid. But i don’t think this programme showed the negative side enough. There is a far darker side to eating disorders that this programme failed to show.

I love this documentary, it really shows how easily a crush diet (or any diet at all) can turn awry. And it just made me cry to see that healthy, beautiful girl making herself thinner and thinner, fitting into this size 00 jeans and I was so happy when she gained her weight back and got out of it healthy. I want to be as comfortable as her in my body. Its such a blessing!

I understand your opinion very well, but when I watched this I felt encouraged to feel well in my body and be comfortable with something not perfect. It helped accepting that it is not a piece of cake to achieve a size zero and everyone else can do it but me. For ED patients, this might make them angry because it’s impossible to cover all of it and it gives not a real idea of ED. For non-ED people it might further their understanding of ED patient motiv. and a critical eye on the skinny hype.

don’t be stupid and brag that because no one really cares.

You know if you have one.

I’m recovering from an ED. Watching this made me SO angry. These women gained a SLIGHT insight to what it’s like living with an ED but they dont know the pure hell that goes on. Its not as easy as ‘testing’ it for a few weeks. You can’t just decide to leave obsessive thoughts behind. I cant wake up, think “today I’ll not worry about food”. When the girl tried the jeans on at the end and people clapped, I felt like screaming. It shouldn’t be celebrated. recovery is the hardest thing I have faced.

i don’t know if iv got one.. i only choose to eat salad and friuts in small portions.. i dont excersise cus i dont know which one to do.. and im ALWAYS thinking about food.. do i have one? and i have made my self sick in the past..? and im a size 12/10!
February 7th, 2007 at 5:49 pm
she looks fab, i wish i looked like her… its totally what its like… a true insight… food takes over your life- eating, punnishment, exercise and the constant though of food is just so irritating but it just takes over your life… its everything and the only thing that you think about…
February 7th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
This documentry is amazing. A true insight to how girls with EDs feel, and what they go through on a day-to-day basis. I have an ED and i wudnt want anyone go through what i do every ay. The guilt, the constant thought of food, the punishments, the exercising!
A really good insightful documentry!

why is everyone being so bitchy toward Kate?
shes a jounalist who wanted to experience what people go through to lose weight, thats what shes done to show other people, why do you have to judge her?
